Happy Monday everyone! Today I'm back with another post in my Meet... series. I'm so excited to introduce to you one of my favorite bloggers, Katie, from Katie's Bliss.
Can you tell Fashions On Top readers a little bit about yourself and your blog?
My name is Katie Manwaring and I live in New York City. By day I work for a fashion PR agency. When I have free time I blog about my personal style, shopping, beauty products and my life in NYC.
What made you want to start a blog?
I actually started my blog my junior year of college because I needed a creative outlet. Going to school in rural North Carolina there weren't many opportunities to get involved in the beauty and fashion industry so I created one for myself.
How many hours a week do you spend on your blog?
A lot! I work full time during the week, but weekends and evenings I basically only work on my blog. Probably on average 4-6 hours a day. It's my life!
How would you describe your style?
Preppy, feminine, casual and tailored. I like to dress my age and I'm also not afraid to try a new trend.
What are three beauty items you can't live without?
Hair oil - I love Kerastase and Moroccan Oil. A great quality face cream for dry skin - some of my favorites are from Clinique, fresh and Cerave. A volumizing and lengthening mascara - I always get mine from the drugstore.
What are some of your favorite blogs?
I really love Atlantic-Pacific, Barefoot Blonde, The Pink Peonies and College Prepster.
Where are your favorite places to shop?
Nordstrom, J. Crew, Topshop, Asos and Sephora!
What are the best and worst things about blogging?
The best is the fact that I've been able to develop my own part-time career. It's been so rewarding seeing my site grow and interacting with readers and brands. I wouldn't have ever imagined so much would come from my blog when I started it a few years ago.
The worst is probably just the fact that it has made me so tough and critical on myself. Since I post a lot of photos of myself I'm a lot more aware of my physical flaws. I also put a lot of pressure on myself to produce top quality content. If a photo shoot turns out not how I wanted or I film footage that's shaky or the lighting isn't very good it's always disappointing.
Have you ever had any "pinch me" moments from blogging?
Um yes! I literally felt like I was having an out of body experience when I went to my first fashion show. So many chills!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully still living in NYC and blogging! I would love to see my readership continue to grow and have the opportunity to work with even more brands that I love.
Any advice for new bloggers?
Focus on quality over quantity. It's important to post consistently but make sure what you're posting is a great representation of you and your brand. Networking with our bloggers and reaching out to brands is also key for growth!
Where can we find you?
You can find me at Katie's Bliss or my YouTube channel! I'm also a big fan of Instagram, Twitter & Facebook!
